I'm a traditional painter who likes to paint from life. I grew up in Bournemouth and Winchester. I studied librarianship in Manchester and realised early on I didn't want to be a librarian. Going to life-drawing classes cheered me up a bit. Later I did a degree in Fine Art, focusing on printmaking, then studied portraiture.
I paint things around me at home, oranges, apples, a blue mug, a milk bottle, a packet of coffee. I move them round till I want to paint them. After moving to Dorset in 2023, I started to paint outside again.
I'm represented by Tregony Contemporary in St Mawes, Cornwall, GrandyArt in London, and Gallery Franklin in St Andrews, Scotland. The New English Art Club elected me to membership in 2022. I teach for them, Winslow Art Center and ArtDrawPaint.
